Peer Pressure

Peer Pressure

People of our age, like your classmates, are called peers. When they try to influence how you act, to get you to do something it’s called peer pressure. It’s something which everyone has to face from a small kid to adult. The positive influence of peer pressure is for e.g.; a friend of your science taught you the easiest way to remember the names of the planets in the solar system or a soccer team friend taught you the cool trick with the ball. You might admire your sport friend and try to be more like him. In this way peer positively influence each other every day.

Sometimes peer influence negatively with each other for example a few friends in college try to cut class with them, your soccer friend try to be mean to another player and never pass her the ball.

It is tough to say no to the peer pressure but you can do it. Paying attention to your feelings and beliefs about what is right and wrong can help you know the right thing to do. Inner strength and self confidence can help you stand firm. If you continue to face peer pressure and you re finding it difficult to handle, talk to someone you trust. Dont feel guilty if you’ve  made mistake or two. Talking to a parent, teacher, or school counsellor can help you feel much better and prepare you for the next time you face peer pressure.

Bullying

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behaviour or influence to intimidate someone. This behaviour can include verbal harassment, threat or physical assault and it may be repeated towards particular targets. Sometime it is because of the differences of social class, race, religion, gender, appearance, behaviour, body language, size or ability etc.If bullying is done by group, it is called mobbing. It can be develop anywhere where people interact with each other. This includes school, college, workplace, family, neighbourhoods etc.

Some people find it very easy to ignore a bully, but others may find it very difficult to co-op up. Those who have been the targets of bullying can suffer from long term emotional and behavioural problems. It can cause loneliness, depression, anxiety and also lead to low self esteem. Bullying increases the risk of suicide. Bullying alone cannot be the reason to commit suicide. Depression is one of the main reason why people who are bullied commit suicide.

On the brighter side there are also positive outcomes from bullying It can teach life lessons and instill strength. Bullying can teach a child how to manage disputes and boost their ability to interact with others. And teachers should not interfere but leave the children to respond to themselves.

Love triangle

Love triangle

Love triangle is romantic relationship involving three people. It refers to two people independently but romantically linked with the third. Each of the three people has some kind of relationship with other two. When love is mutual and shared between two people, everything is perfect ,simple and easy .But when a third person enters, the picture and everything changes just like that. One person typically ends up feeling betrayed at some point (e g., ”Person A is jealous of person C who is having a relationship with person B who in person A’s eyes ,is her/his person.”).Love triangles are inherently unstable with unrequited love and jealousy as common themes. In most cases jealous or rejected first party ends a friendship with second party over the third party love interest. It can also lead to murder or committing suicide of the rejected lover.

There are two primary types of love triangles.1}Two people trying to win one persons affection.2}One person who’s in love with one person but likes someone else at the same time .If you are experiencing the confusion of liking someone else inspite of being in relationship with your lover you are probably not in love at all !!! You have to understand first that Loving  and Liking are two different things.

If you really love your current partner, avoid falling into the confusion of loving two people .But if you’re not really happy in your relationship or don’t really see your future in it ,you may consider this new dating and see where it goes .Always remember one thing in love .End a relationship because you want to or because you’re not happy in it .Never end a relationship because you think you’ve found someone better .It’s going to hurt you or even backfire you at some point.

Keep Calm and Study for Exam !!!

As the exam approaches most of the students are seen under pressure .They become panic .Simply they become nervous .Some people also have an exam phobia .But rather than facing anxiety and stresses it is important to approach them with a clear mind and an understanding of how to deal with stressful situations .Here I have come up with some examination tips .It will help you to reduce your exam tension.

First know what your syllabus is. Don’t be total blank .If you are not clear on anything, ask your teacher .Get it explained. Take notes in class .Do not just rely on your memory or course book .If you are feeling exam stress, you can review your notes ,this will help you remember things that had happened in the class .Manage your time wisely .Do not wait for the last moment to study, this will surely lead to exam stress. Start studying before a week so that you will remember much of the information .Know where you will study best .Think of the factors that allow you to be most comfortable and relaxed as you are preparing for the exams .Find an alternate place to study such as library or coffee shop. A change of scenery can give you a fresh look at the material .Take a breaks. Don’t study continuously .Drink plenty of water. Not drinking enough of water can feel you sleepy and stressed .Have a cup of coffee or cola if you like.

Get enough sleep. Not getting enough sleep can contribute to feeling of fatigue and stress. Arrive early on exam day and summarise what you have studied .Before entering the exam hall Chew some gum to reduce anxiety .Take a deep breath with eyes closed ,pause ,exhale and repeat the process for 3 times .It will relax your body and increase the flow of oxygen to your brain.

All the best for your exam!!!
